#14: George Hicks’ Home: Hick’s Court, St Ives, England – 1888 vs. 2021
Isn’t it crazy what a little color and change of scenery can do for a picture? When you see an old photo from a period way before your time it can be hard to imagine ever being there, or even imaging what colors are meant to be present. But when you pair it with a color photograph, everything comes to life!

George Hick, the Victorian-era painter, and society portraitist lived right here between 1611 and 1624, hence the name Hick’s Court. There is even a plaque next to the archway that states that this was his home. How wonderful that this piece of history still exists in 2021!
