#50: Real-Life Mowgli
In 1867, hunters found a 6-year-old boy in an Indian jungle and brought him back to civilization. Up until this point, the little boy has been raised in the wilderness among wolves. The boy could not speak or walk on two feet, and instead, he used to grunt and make wolf sounds. He’s never learned to interact with humans.

Rudyard Kipling’s famous book The Jungle Book, published in 1894, wasn’t completely fictional; it was based on this kid, known as the real-life Mowgli. There have been other cases of children raised by wolves in the wilderness in India and other parts of the world.
