#17: Get Off the Chair
I think we can all agree right here and now that we spend too much time sitting. Most of us spend most of our day sitting- whether we have an office job sitting in a chair all day, or whether we’re unemployed and sitting on the couch all day. Some days are more active than others, and still, we spend most of our time sitting.

We know it’s not good for us- it’s not good for our posture, our back, and our weight- and yet most of us don’t do anything to change this bad habit. As this fact suggests, standing for 3-4 hours a day for five days a week is equivalent to running ten marathons a year. Now, I don’t actually know whether or not this is true- but it probably can’t hurt to get off our chairs from time to time.
