Victor Cruz
Making it to the NFL is much, much harder than it appears. Victor Cruz is a perfect example of how a combination of hard work, luck, and perseverance work together to make or break a football player’s career. After playing football with UMass in college, Cruz was an undrafted free agent.

Being an undrafted free agent is by no means a death sentence to an NFL career, but it’s certainly disappointing for a player who has worked their tail off to get drafted for years. Cruz ended up getting signed by the New York Giants, where he was a wide receiver for six years. After years of struggling in college and in his professional career, Cruz finally made it to the top.
