Javon Kinlaw

Javon Kinlaw is living the American dream, at least according to football fans. Kinlaw is only in his mid-20s, and he’s already a defensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers. What’s more, he started off his college football career by attending a junior college before transferring to the University of South Carolina.

An NFL player starting off at a junior college isn’t commonplace, as many future players get university scholarships. Kinlaw is in it to win it. Before he hit it big in his career, he and his family immigrated to Washington, D.C., from Trinidad and Tobago. They struggled and were homeless in D.C. for some time. Now, thankfully, Kinlaw and his family don’t have to worry about financial insecurities thanks to his NFL career.
