#44: Golf Ball Collector, 1920
This particularly special photograph tells the story of a long-lost profession. It shows a golf ball collector braving the dangers of flying balls, tees, and clubs to retrieve lost balls and ensure they find their way back to safety.

I, for one, was not previously aware of the existence of such a profession. I have to say it’s quite a shame that this job no longer exists. It could even have functioned as a secondary [rather more extreme] sport being played alongside golf on the same field simultaneously.
