#36: Los Angeles, in 1901 and 2001
You probably recognize the city in the second photo as downtown Los Angeles, but do you recognize the city in the first one? That’s right; it’s downtown Los Angeles. Only 100 years separate these two photos; they look like they could have been taken in completely different places and parts of the world.

There is something wonderful about seeing two pictures taken in the same place but many years apart. It puts years of change into perspective and tells us a story about where we’ve come from and where we’re going. Only I don’t feel that way when I see two pictures of myself twenty years ago and now.
