#32: Futuristic Typewriter Chair, Complete With Headphones and Light, Paris, 1972
Here’s a picture from the past that looks like it might be from the future. In fact, it embodies a particular sort of 1970s aesthetic that aimed to capture that futuristic look while utilizing available technologies, in this case, the humble chair, a typewriter, headphones, and a light.

In fact, I’m not quite sure why this innovative chair didn’t stick around in one form or another. Aside from the really groovy design, the idea of an integrated computer chair seems so basic and yet so profound that I don’t understand why they aren’t in use today. Surely, there’s a market for this retro idea.
