#26: Barry Manilow, Employee of CBS in the File Room, 1965

Here we have a nostalgic double-whammy. Not only do we get a sneak peek into the CBS file room in 1965, looking at filing drawers filled with film reels from various CBS productions. We also get a young Barry Manilow, looking innocently at the reel in his hand, unaware of the shining career that awaits him.

There’s a certain serenity about this photo. Something about the quiet beginner who will one day become a star, surrounded by the old film reels that will one day become obsolete, really plays with your feeling of time and timelessness. The photo is almost humorous as if Barry and his tapes are laughing at us.
