#21: Kids Playing “Evel Knievel” in the Neighborhood, 1970s

One of the great things about photos (particularly old photos before we had videos, gifs, or lives) is that they are single moments locked in time and show us nothing of the before or after. We must conclude based only on what we see without any extra information.

In this case, the conclusion that I am forced to draw is that at least one of the children lying on the road is about to receive a very serious injury. Ah, don’t you just long for the days when kids had the freedom to play games on the street and innocently maim their friends?
