#17: Jacob Miller, a Civil War Veteran, Was Shot in the Forehead on Sept. 19th, 1863, at Brock Field but Survived
This is Jacob Miller. He was shot in the head during the American Civil War and left for dead, and he lived with this impressive wound on his forehead for many years. In fact, it initially remained open, and the last piece of bullet was only removed 31 years after the shooting.

I don’t want to be the guy spouting conspiracy theories all over the place, but is it possible that Jacob Miller was some kind of small-time superhero? I’m pretty sure that Wolverine from The X-Men fought in the Civil War, so maybe they were some kind of super team.
