#15: Book Case Landlside, Lorain Public Library, Ohio, 1971
I may be revealing a few too many of my deep, dark personal secrets, but I find it hard to walk into a library without imagining what would happen if all the bookshelves were to tip over. The potential devastation just seems too imminent to ignore. Tell me you don’t think about it too.

Unfortunately, the Lorrain Public Library in Ohio experienced one such terrible instance in 1971, when 19 stacks of books fell over one after the other in a domino-like effect. The resultant mess was said to consist of 50,000 fallen books, enough for this photo to wow us even 50 years later.
