#7: Life of Pi

You may not remember this 2012 film based on the novel by the same name, but it had some impressive movie screen magic. We were swept away by the endless ocean views in this movie, but by this point, we are no longer surprised to see they were filmed on a soundstage.

We admit to some disappointment and relief that there wasn’t an actual tiger next to the actor, although it looked so realistic. Not all tiger moments were CGI, though; director Ang Lee used four tigers to make this movie. However, scenes involving the tiger and human next to each other were entirely computer generated. Safety first!
