#17: Boardwalk Empire

Boardwalk Empire was a successful television show set in the Roaring 20s. It was known for its drama and violence, but it was also known for being beautifully shot. Well, of course, it was. It had a huge budget, was airing on HBO, and Martin Scorcese directed the pilot!

This show was so large that when it needed to film the boardwalk in Atlantic City, this show that filmed in Brooklyn simply built Atlantic City close by and used a green screen to later add in the Atlantic Ocean and a couple of steamer ships. Hmm, I guess the crew didn’t find that to be a day at the beach.
