#47: Roll Tide

You know, we’ve talked a lot about Florida, but there are a lot of states in the American South that are their own special kind of crazy. Like a Florida-lite, you might say; not quite as crazy as Florida is, but still with their own special brand of wackiness.

For example, what about good old Alabama? They have a lot in common with Florida in that people tend to assume that both states are inhabited by hicks and rednecks. That’s not really a fair thing to say about either state, though; is there any state in this great union of ours that doesn’t have its fair share of hicks and rednecks?
