#17: Leaping Lizards

Something you might not have known is that iguanas run wild in Florida. They’re not native, mind you; they’ve all been introduced by people in recent history, and they’re now considered an invasive species that actually does a lot of damage to local ecosystems.

Something else you might not have known is that when the temperature drops, they go into a catatonic state, as though they are frozen, and have been known to just drop from the trees like giant scaly leaves. As you can see from this story, it is probably all for the best if you don’t put these frozen iguanas in your car.
