#10: See You Later, Alligator

To me, one of the most fascinating things about Florida as a state is that they have alligators just everywhere. I mean, these are large and powerful predators that can easily kill you or your dog, and according to people I know from Florida, they pop up everywhere. People with pools in their backyards put fences around them not to keep children out but to keep alligators out.

I would be too terrified to live in a place like that. But people from Florida are tough. They face the problem head-on and just teach the kids in elementary school how to get away from alligators, and then they go on living with that risk like it’s totally normal.
