Winnie Harlow

The stunning Winnie Harlow received a life-changing diagnosis at the tender age of four: she was diagnosed with a chronic skin condition called Vitiligo. To shed light on her rare condition, she explains it like this: “My immune system sees my melanin—the stuff that gives color to your skin—as if it’s a common cold or some other intruder. So, it decides to wage war against it.” Consequently, patches of her skin lost their color and turned white.

As a young girl, she endured the pain of being bullied and feeling different. But as she grew older, something incredible happened. Winnie had an epiphany, recognizing that these unique markings on her body made her even more extraordinary. She eloquently puts it, “Vitiligo is like a hidden blessing,” and when she finally learned to love herself unconditionally, “opportunities began cascading into my life.”
