Overblown Abilities

Growing up were led to believe that law enforcement is full of competent and well-meaning individuals. But as we get older and wiser, it becomes clear that this important element of our society is full of humans who are just as capable of immoral behavior and poor judgment as anyone else.

Still, it would not benefit the government to have its citizens believe that the cops are a bunch of ineffective bozos. This conspiracy claims that shows like CSI are a way to prevent that negative image from taking root in the public consciousness. These shows depict law enforcement agents as incredibly intelligent and effective, which certainly does something to change the general perception of the police and related agencies. But there’s little that suggests this is an actual plot by the powers that be.
