Facial Recognition

Remember the trend that took place not long ago where people would show their current selves compared to themselves ten years ago? That Facebook phenomenon was meant to be a fun way to mark the passage of time and show off some personal growth, or lack thereof. However, some believed that the lighthearted trend was a dubious plot.

The theory is that the ten-year-later trend was a ploy by Facebook and other tech companies to train artificial intelligence to read and analyze faces. Who knows what those conspiracy theorists believed would happen after AI got better at decerning one face from another, but, no doubt, they did not think the outcome would benefit humanity.
