29. Matt Damon

Some celebrities stay close to home with their charity endeavors, while others, including actor Matt Damon, go big. Damon has a goal in mind to alleviate (if not put an end) to the global water problem. Thus, he founded H2O Africa – a non-profit organization meant to raise awareness about clean water sources and initiatives in Africa. At the beginning of the decade, his foundation merged with WaterPartners and became Water.org – taking his organization to the next level. Water.org is a first of its kind organization, aimed at creating water solutions across the world and provide developing countries with clean water and better sanitary conditions.

This goal is quite ambitious, we would say, and so Matt Damon definitely deserves a place of honor on this list (or any other list of charitable celebrities, for that matter). Hopefully, by sharing his story here, more people will be exposed to the important goal he is pursuing. People like him are here to prove that celebrities are a lot more than pretty faces, and though it seems as if they often spend too much on luxuries, they also give a lot back.
