It’s nice to see celebrities who use their fame for the greater good. Take Kit Harrington, for example. He has been the advocate for Mencap, a non-profit organization for people with a learning disability, for several years now. This year, as his fame reached new heights with the season finale of Game of Thrones, the British actor has finally managed to make a greater contribution to the charity, as thousands of Game of Thrones fans learned from their hero and volunteered to lend a hand.

Luckily, Jon Snow was such a lovable characters, that he has a lot of fans. This year, it was his fans’ turn to touch his emotions: his many fans surprised the actor, as they organized a fund-raiser in his honor, held to raise money and awareness to the charity Mencap. The actor, naturally, could not stay indifferent to this gesture, and he participated in the fundraiser, donating close to $1 million.
