Joe Aiello’s relentless pursuit of Al Capone knew no bounds, as he continued to offer hefty cash rewards of up to $25,000 to anyone daring enough to eliminate his rival. However, those foolish enough to accept Aiello’s bounty met a grim fate, as they were swiftly dispatched by Capone’s loyal enforcers, reinforcing the perception that Capone was invulnerable.

This only intensified Aiello’s vendetta. After a prolonged cycle of revenge and scheming, an “anonymous” tip led law enforcement to raid Aiello’s properties, resulting in the arrest of several key lieutenants. Unlike Capone’s unwavering loyalists, Aiello’s men crumbled under pressure, with one revealing that he had been hired to assassinate Capone by Aiello himself.
