Emerging Unscathed, Yet Again
In September of 1926, the Hawthorne Inn became the epicenter of a violent showdown between Capone and his North Side gang rivals. The sound of commotion outside lured Capone to his window, unaware that he was falling right into their trap. A car filled with North Side gang members started shooting at the building.

Astonishingly, Capone emerged unscathed, but the attack shook him to his core. Despite his ruthless reputation, Capone had no intention of becoming a martyr and called for a truce. However, Hymie Weiss, his rival, rejected the offer, sealing his own fate. Capone’s retaliation was swift and brutal, proving that crossing him came with dire consequences.
