Apparently, She Loves Her Toppings

This next one leaves me with so many questions. This customer complains that her pizza was nothing more than a crust, tomato sauce and cheese, and the baffled restaurant owner is left to explain that that is what a Margherita pizza is. (We’ll forgive the rampant misspellings of Margherita here.)

So what exactly did this woman think a pizza was? Has she never seen a plain cheese pizza before? Has she only ever had pizzas that are slathered with an inch and a half of toppings, and she wasn’t aware there’s another possible way to do pizza? When she saw the word “Margherita” on the menu, did she just not bother to find out what that meant? I’m sorry, but that’s on her.
