The Cambodian Expert
Traveling is good for the mind and soul, almost all of the time. But there’s definitely a certain sort of traveler who gets really smug and unbearable about their experiences. You know the type: they go to a Thai beach resort for a week and come back claiming they’re Buddhist. They buy a single designer handbag in Paris and come back thinking they’re some kind of expert on fashion.

Or, in this case, they go to Cambodia and come back to lecture Cambodian chefs on how their food is insufficiently Cambodian. I really hope Erika learned the important lesson that briefly being a tourist somewhere doesn’t make you an internationally renowned expert on the place.
