Be a Better Boss
“I used to work at a newspaper where I was responsible for editing and assembling the paper. I essentially ran the show by myself, using a complex system that I had become very efficient with. However, the management treated me poorly, imposing unrealistic deadlines and criticizing me when I couldn’t meet them.”

“One day, my boss unexpectedly told me to complete an entire paper by the end of the day. I refused, explaining that I needed more time. He threatened to fire me if I didn’t finish it by the end of the day. I told him that the paper couldn’t function without me. He suggested I take the day off to cool down and said he would handle my tasks. About an hour after I left, I received a call asking me to return and complete the work at my own pace. However, it was too little, too late for me. I decided to quit, and as a result, the paper didn’t come out for weeks.”
