Year They Came Out of the Closet: openly gay
Marc Jacobs, born April 9, 1963, is an influential American fashion designer who is celebrated for his groundbreaking work. He helms his eponymous label, Marc Jacobs, and oversaw Marc by Marc Jacobs for 15 years until its closure after the 2015 fall/winter season.

On April 6, 2019, Jacobs tied the knot with his partner Charly Defrancesco in a lavish New York City ceremony. The couple later acquired the Max Hoffman House, a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed gem in Rye, New York. Recognized for his influence, Jacobs ranked #14 on Out magazine’s 2012 “50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America.”
