George Richard Chamberlain, born March 31, 1934, is an American actor and musician who carved an impressive legacy in Hollywood. Despite his success, Chamberlain faced personal turmoil, being outed as gay at 55 by French magazine Nous Deux in December 1989.

It wasn’t until 2003 when his memoir Shattered Love: A Memoir was published, that Chamberlain publicly embraced his sexuality. In the early 1970s, Chamberlain was romantically involved with television actor Wesley Eure. Later, at 43, he met actor-writer-producer Martin Rabbett, 20 years his junior, sparking a long-term relationship.
