Nixon met Christine Marinoni, her future wife, at a lesbian rights rally in 2002. Their engagement was announced during a 2009 same-sex marriage march in New York. Nixon’s portrayal of Miranda in Sex and the City always suggested that romantic preferences are fluid, not strictly defined.
