The Trinity Concept: Rooted in Tradition, Not Scripture
The concept of the Holy Trinity, intertwining the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as one, has been a foundational doctrine of Christianity for centuries. Despite its frequent invocation, the term ‘Trinity’ is conspicuously absent from the Bible’s text, highlighting a fascinating disparity between traditional beliefs and scriptural mentions.

Intriguingly, the origin of the term ‘Trinity’ traces back to Tertullian, an early Christian author. Deriving from the Latin ‘Trinitas’ which means ‘tripleness,’ it specifically embodies the Holy Trinity concept. Tertullian’s linguistic innovation didn’t stop there; he was also the first to use ‘Persona’ in the context of defining persons within the Holy Trinity.
