#28: Raymond Theodore Robinson
Raymond Theodore Robinson was a living urban legend for most of his life. He was a man who suffered a tragic electrical accident as a child that left him severely disabled. He lost his eyes, nose, and arm in the 1910s when he climbed an electrical pole in his neighborhood. As he grew up, Raymond preferred to stay inside his home during the day for fear of scaring his neighbors and the townspeople of Kopel, Pennsylvania.

He would often take walks at night to avoid interacting with anyone. However, his nighttime strolls ended up bringing him more attention than anticipated. Townspeople and visitors started rumors about Raymond, dubbing him the “Green Man” or “Charlie No-Face.” Tourists would even drive down local roads at night in hopes of seeing the ghostly figure of Raymond. The rumors eventually turned into legend, obscuring Raymond’s true life story. He passed away in 1985, but stories about his late-night walks still exist.
