5. That Would Drive Me Batty

This is an odd one, considering I would assume Vampire Bats would be the most well-known bats given their incredibly memorable name. But perhaps that is the reason this teacher thought it was fake, as vampire bats have a much more prominent place in popular culture than others.

They are associated with actual vampires, the night, terror stories such as this, etc. Still, given that situation, the teacher should have also been prepared for that to be the first kind of bat brought up and researched it ahead of time.
