The teacher’s reaction to this kid’s correction says a lot about her, doesn’t it? It is an odd thing to state. Maybe I’m wrong here, but I get the sense even most non-Americans would know that George Washington was the first president of the United States, even if Lincoln is one of the most famous and beloved ones.

That aside, you don’t speak to a student like that in class and embarrass and insult them in front of their classmates like this. It’s still kids, and you need to be mindful of it. This teacher should be ashamed of herself.
