29. You Can’t Cure Stupid
The English language is a strange mesh of multiple languages that includes Latin, German, Greek, and more. By extension, the rules are strange and sometimes make no logical sense. It makes it difficult to learn and to teach, but that’s no excuse for a teacher in school.

There seem to be words people mix up often; another pet peeve is that a lot of people write rogue as rouge (rouge is a color, very different). The closest word to “alot” would be allot, which means something completely different than “a lot.” Sigh.
