26. It’s Common Knowledge Planes Fly At the Speed of Light

Oh dear. This veers from the ridiculous into the realm of pure stupidity. According to the poster of this article, in hindsight, they reflected that said teacher was older and may have been a bit senile, which really is the only logical explanation for assuming that airplanes fly at the speed of light.

It would be very cool, really, if we could have airplanes at the speed of light, though it might be a tad faster than even we need to travel around the planet. But it would get us to Mars in a timely manner, and who doesn’t want to visit Mars?
