Just Be Kind

A good piece of life advice is to always be kind to people because you never know what they’re going through. But if concern for the welfare of strangers is not motivating enough for you, here’s a more self-serving variation on that rule: always be kind to people because you never know when they’re going to be interviewing you for a job.

I wonder if the guy who had been a jerk recognized the interviewer as the person from the cafe. If so, I wonder what he did when he realized who it was sitting in front of him with the power to deny him the job that he wanted. If not, I wonder if the interviewer started subtly letting him know, “I’ve met you before, and this conversation is already not going well.”
