There Go We All

It seems like so many kids are dumb and kind of mean, that I’m starting to wonder if maybe it’s just something that’s common to all kids, and maybe I was also dumb and mean as a kid, and I have simply forgotten it. Why is it that all kids seem to be kind of dumb and mean?

This is the story that inspired these musings. Why would you make fun of an old man walking across a parking lot? It’s rude, and also, we all get old eventually; someday, it’s going to be that kid shuffling across the parking lot while some little dumb kid makes fun of him, and he’s going to know what it’s like to be on the other side.
