I have a lot of questions about this next story. First, what is a room service butler, and why have I never stayed at a place that has them? Second, how much money do you suppose you have to pay to get a room service butler assigned to your hotel room? Third, do you guys think that I can justify the expense?

But I’m also wondering about the decision to scrape together change to tip the butler: if they didn’t feel the need to tip, they wouldn’t have, right? Maybe they were a little low on cash right then, and that was the best that they could do. Maybe Belinda Carlisle had blown through all of her money buying fancy cheeses and cashmere sweaters, and she literally had nothing left with which to tip the butler.
