The Royal Attire of Each Groom
Prince William and Prince Harry, both proudly bearing their military service histories, paid homage to tradition on their wedding days by donning the distinguished uniforms of their respective regiments. It’s a longstanding custom for royal grooms to exchange vows in military attire, an emblematic nod to their service.

Colonel William stood resplendent in the vibrant red uniform of the Irish Guards, making him the first royal groom to sport this striking hue since Captain Mark Phillips did so in 1973. Meanwhile, Prince Harry, who had been appointed as Captain General of the Royal Marines, chose the dignified Blues and Royals military uniform. Interestingly, he opted for the attire of a Major, adding an intriguing twist to his already captivating wedding attire.
