#9: Rejected Playing James Bond
Following his massive success in the 1970s, Reynolds was approached to play James Bond after Sean Connery left the franchise. He turned it down, stating audiences wouldn’t accept an American as Bond.

The role eventually went to Roger Moore, who successfully continued the franchise. Reynolds later admitted he regretted the decision, as it was one of his career’s most significant missed opportunities. However, at the time, he was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and he didn’t feel the need to take a role that didn’t fit his on-screen persona.
