#5: Loved Westerns
Reynolds had a lifelong love for Westerns; his early TV work often reflected that. He starred as Quint Asper in Gunsmoke (1962–1965), a role that introduced him to a broader audience. He also appeared in classic Western films, such as 100 Rifles (1969), where he starred alongside Raquel Welch and Jim Brown.

The film was controversial for featuring one of Hollywood’s first interracial love scenes, between Reynolds and Welch. Westerns suited his rugged persona, and he continued appearing in them throughout the 1960s and 1970s, cementing his reputation as a leading man.
