#35: Read the Sign

Sometimes I genuinely worry about the reading comprehension of the people around me. It’s sort of depressing as someone who writes for a living, but I have absolutely seen the reluctance that some people have to stop and read something that is written right in front of their faces. So this next story does not surprise me at all.

Of course, there’s an excellent chance that these people were lying through their teeth, and they absolutely read the signs but decided to ignore them. But it’s also depressingly possible that they saw the signs but that somehow the words did not even register in their minds. Anyway, thanks for coming to my TED talk about why America is doomed.
