#97: Sleeping Through the Night
Thoughts of the creature’s frustrated wail, the thin, high-pitched screech that echoed in her mind, and the haunted expression on Madrone’s face plagued Kelsey’s thoughts. Twice a day, she found herself checking her eyes, half-expecting to see the first signs of its presence.

Gradually, however, Kelsey began to find peace. The creature hadn’t followed her, and she was safe within the confines of her dusty Kansas home. Nightmares slowly dissipated, replaced by restful sleep undisturbed by visions of dark sludge or murky waters. With each passing day, Kelsey reclaimed a sense of normalcy, finding solace in the simple rhythms of everyday life.
