#60: Witnessing the Horrors

Jack observed with an unsettling calm as Mick succumbed to violent convulsions, his body wracked by spasms that signified the onset of the mysterious affliction. Fear had long since abandoned Jack, drained away since the nightmare commenced.

The nightmare began subtly, with only a few of the crew exhibiting symptoms: uncontrollable shaking, the stark red of bloodshot eyes, and the ominous darkening of their gums. What initially seemed like a virus turned out to be far more sinister, a malevolent presence aboard their vessel, birthed from the depths of the ocean itself.
