#56: A Day Marked by Longing Below The Waves
On January 19, 1993, Jack Madrone stepped into The Patriot’s lunch room, his mind heavy with thoughts of the world above. They had already missed the festive cheer of Christmas and New Year’s, and it seemed Valentine’s Day would be no different for the crew submerged beneath the sea.

In the confines of the submarine, only a handful of crew members remained active. Jack, alongside Robert Patterson and Mick Hall, were the few not succumbed to the mysterious affliction that had claimed their comrades, who now lay in their bunks, a testament to the unseen adversary they faced underwater.
