Beyoncé
Honestly, I’m torn on this one. I was never that big a fan of Beyoncé, to begin with. I don’t particularly mind her, and she’s got a few songs I like, but I’ve never really understood the level of adoration that she seems to inspire in some of her fans. I mean, she’s good, but she’s not that amazing (an unpopular opinion, I know).

But I think this is a complicated issue that we can’t necessarily boil down to “Beyoncé is a monster.” First, those accusations were printed in a tabloid—not the place to go for really factual journalism—and as far as I can tell, the article never claimed it was children working there. Most of all, the sad truth is that most of our stuff is made in factories like that. If you’re upset about products that are made by low-wage workers in factories, you’re going to need to throw out most of the stuff you own. If that’s a stand you’re willing to make, good for you! But it’s a weird double standard to get mad at only Beyoncé for this.
