#58: Cryptic Call

So this is one of those stories that can read as either heartwarming or spine-tingling, depending on how you choose to look at it. If you believe that this was Nana’s last goodbye, then it’s a pretty heartwarming story. On the other hand, a mysterious phone call at just the moment that your deceased grandmother would have called is a little odd.

Personally, I choose the third route: I’m just cracking up at the message that they heard on the phone. “We hope you enjoy your trip to paradise” makes no sense as a message from a dead woman, unless she’s warning them that they’re about to die. Really, it sounds like a cheesy line from a hitman in a crime comedy.
