#32: Calvin Coolidge – Jelly Roll
Calvin Coolidge may not top the list of the most famous U.S. presidents, but during his time in the Oval Office, he certainly enjoyed the perks of the presidency—including a private chef. Ling P. Quan, the White House chef during Coolidge’s term, was tasked with satisfying the president’s culinary cravings.

While Coolidge’s favorite savory dish was veal curry, his real weakness was sweets. The sweet-toothed president frequently requested jelly roll, a delightful dessert made with sponge cake filled with fruit jelly and topped with lemon-flavored ice cream. It’s safe to say Coolidge knew how to indulge in style!
