#13: Chester A. Arthur – Turtle Steak
Chester A. Arthur may have become president unexpectedly after the sudden passing of his predecessor, but his unique eating habits are just as intriguing as his political legacy. Case in point: Arthur enjoyed dining on a turtle—a delicacy of his time!

While this might sound unusual today, turtles were a sought-after dish back then, and Arthur particularly enjoyed pairing his turtle with a side of macaroni. It’s safe to say times have changed; thanks to the Endangered Species Act, turtles are now protected from ending up on presidential dinner plates.
